Open Door wins Inspirational Leadership Award

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the Steve Morgan Foundation conference and awards ceremony at Carden Park hotel, Chester, after Open Door Charity was shortlisted as a finalist for the Inspirational Leadership Award. The conference kicked off sharp with some incredible keynotes from Steve and Sally Morgan, who deep dived into where the foundation came from, and how it continues to grow as an organisation.

We heard from spectacular volunteers from the Diabetes UK charity, and learned how much good has happened since the Steve Morgan Foundation became a crucial funding partner for them.

The day consisted of fantastic networking, insightful workshops and to top it all off the spectacular awards ceremony in the evening.

We are pleased to say that Open Door Charity won Inspirational leadership Award 2026. It was an honour for Lee Pennington, OD founder and director, to collect the award on behalf of the charity, and to be competing against such brilliant other third sector organisations.

We are grateful for the opportunities the Steve Morgan Foundation has given us, ad we can’t wait to see our partnership go from strength to strength.
